History
Green Gables Edgewater was built by John H. Galbraith in 1940. He was the primary owner of the Eatonville Lumber Company at the time. Subsequently, he owned a number of businesses on the Gig Harbor Peninsula and in Tacoma. He then sold the home to the Sisters of Saint Joseph, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, in the mid 50’s. They converted the garage to a chapel. The estate was then sold in the '60s to Bill Brasier who sold it to Fuzzy Caine. Since then, it was owned by Denny Hutchins, a captain for US Airways, who then sold the property to Tim Moyer in 1996. Mr. Moyer commissioned an extensive remodeling and restoration of the property, including the resurrection of the property's on-site chapel. In 2007, the property was again renovated and debuted as the Gig Harbor area's most exclusive and lavish bed and breakfast.
The serene atmosphere provides everything you need to be truly renewed: stunning views of the Olympic Mountains, the panoramic scene of Lay Inlet overlooking Henderson Bay, and quiet, peaceful privacy. Our mission at Green Gables Edgewater is to provide you with the most comfortable, relaxing, and absolutely unforgettable stay possible.

Testamonial:
Tim,
I was telling you this morning that I felt like I slept in Scarlett O’Hara's bed in Gone With the Wind. Just to give you one more insight. All day yesterday, before coming to your place, I had the worst neck and shoulder pain. In fact, every time I moved my head my neck would creak and crack. This morning I had absolutely no pain. That bed is better than an hour and a half massage.
Great seeing you again and meeting Harline. What a wonderful daughter. As they would say in the olden times, good head on her shoulders and a pleasing personality. I know my dad would have liked her and challenged her, which was his utmost compliment to a person was to challenge their intellect.
Thank you so much for having us over and affording us your hospitality.
Love,
Kim and Lew
